5 of my most loved reads & 5 of my most disappointing reads

Top Ten Tuesday is an original feature/weekly meme created by The Broke and the Bookish. This weeks theme is: 5 of my most loved reads & five of my most disappointing or 1 star reads.

5 of my most loved reads

Between the World and Me

Amazing. I could relate to it in some sense. The audiobook is worth a listen. His voice is perfect for this. I want to read or listen to more books written by him.

Daytripper

Amazing art work and a story that makes you think.

Death note

I wish I would’ve thought of this. Love the idea.

How to Love

Very well written. Realistic characters.

Saga Vol.2

Another graphic novel with amazing art work. Loved the second volume more than the first.

5 of my most disappointing reads

Althea and Oliver

Not what I expected from reading the synopsis. Depressing.

Men Explain Things to Me

Basic feminism for every white, middle class, cis-gendered and able bodied woman.

Also, according to Solnit, a woman who wears a niqab/ hijab/ jilbab cannot be a feminist and should be treated like she doesn’t exist e.g. “I realized with astonishment that what I had taken for drapery or furniture was a fully veiled woman… Whatever all the arguments may be about veils and burkas, they make people literally disappear”.

Maybe someone (man or woman) should explain to her what literal means.

Everything, Everything

Thought it was a different kind of story of a unique situation for a character.

Outcast

Most of it didn’t make sense.

The Wrong side of Right

Made me feel angry for the protagonist. So many things seemed unresolved.

Have you read any books I’ve mentioned here? If so, how’d you feel about them?

Thank you for reading and I hope you’re having a great day.
